Rhizodont is a type of Fish in NieR Replicant that can be acquired by fishing. Fish are required to complete the Fisherman's Quests at Seafront and improve NieR's fishing skill level.
NieR's first fishing rod and Lure can be retrieved from the Fisherman standing by the Seafront Pier.
Rhizodont Location
The best fishing spot for Rhizodont is in the Desert, next to the fast travel boat area.

Rhizodont Information
Rhizodonts are a necessary catch in completing an Achievement in NieR Replicant but are not part of the Fisherman's Quests.
- Rhizodont is a saltwater fish that can be caught in the Desert with sardines as bait. Carp can also be used, but it will be slightly less effective
- The Rhizodont is a 3 nibble catch. The fish will nibble 3 times slowly.
- This is a tough catch so you'll need to have your fishing skill maxed to land the fish.
- Sardines can be bought from the Tackle Shopkeeper and the Fishmonger at Seafront for 250 gold
- Catching Rhizodont would not add it to the Fishmonger's inventory in Seafront.
Rhizodont Notes & Trivia
One of every fish must be caught to complete all achievements. Catching the Rhizodont on its own will also give you an achievement.

When "Fish" is displayed on the screen, press (B)-Xbox (Square)-Playstation, to choose your bait and begin fishing. When your rod bends, press (A) to reel in the fish, then press (L) in the direction opposite the way the fish is going to reduce its HP. When the fish's HP reaches zero, you will automatically land it.

AnonymousI'm only speaking off personal experience so I don't know if there's a real difference, but I personally only caught Hynerias along with junk when fishing next to the boat in the Desert after about 35 tries with both Carps and Sardines. I moved to the fishing post in the part of the desert that leads to the Barrent Temple and caught a Rhizodont on my first 3 nibbles catch. (The delay between the second and third nibble is bigger when it's a Rhizodont catch than when it's a Hyneria catch btw)
Caught this beast near the boat landing, so I can confirm that it can be caught there. Caught it using Sardines right after I caught a hyneria for a quest (didn't even turn that in yet). It was quite an ordeal, for a second I thought the vibro on my controller is gonna bust from extended overuse.
