Two-handed Swords are a type of Weapon in Nier Replicant. Two-handed Swords are the heaviest class of Weapon, making them the slowest, yet the highest in damage. Due to their immense weight, the Protagonist can break most enemies' guard just by landing auto-attacks.

They are not available to the Protagonist until the second half of the story begins.

Two-handed swords' combos effects are as follows:

  • Ground special attack: A spinning attack that deals damage to enemies twice.
  • Airborne/jump attack: The Protagonist lands from the air by stabbing his sword into the ground, dealing huge damage in an AOE radius.
  • Dodge attack: The Protagonist performs a slow, upward slash, damaging enemies in front of him.

probably worth noting that the "finishing command" you can do while enemies are laying down can be dodged out of the second the healthbar disappears, and the two handed swords are the quickest, using dark execution and finish cancelling I can kill 4 armoured tall shades per dark execution.

really helped me in general + farming when I figured it out
