Sardine is a type of Fish in NieR Replicant that can be acquired by fishing. Fish are required to complete the Fisherman's Quests at Seafront and improve NieR's fishing skill level.
NieR's first fishing rod and Lure can be retrieved from the Fisherman standing by the Seafront Pier.
A common saltwater fish that can also be used as bait.

Sardine Information
Sardines are a necessary catch in one of the Fisherman's Quests and make a good ingredient for new dishes. They are also used as bait to catch other fish.
- Sardines can be caught at the Seafront beach with Lugworms as bait
- Lugworm can be bought from the Tackle Shopkeeper at Seafront for 10 gold
- Completing the Sardine quest (The Fisherman's Gambit) adds Sardines to the Fishmonger's inventory in Seafront, as well as the Tackle Shopkeeper's inventory.

Sardine Quest
Sardine is a necessary catch in one of the Fisherman's Quests, a series of Side Quests in the game. Speak to the old Fisherman in Seafront, and he will ask NieR to catch him ten Sardines. Completing the quest will improve NieR's fishing skill level.
Sardines are also a necessary ingredient in a popular fragrant herbal pasta with salt-crusted sardines. The Tavern Keeper at Seafront will want to try making this recipe. He needs ten sardines to make the dish.

- A Round by the Pond - Catch one of every type of fish
When "Fish" is displayed on the screen, press (B)-Xbox (Square)-Playstation, to choose your bait and begin fishing. When your rod bends, press (A) to reel in the fish, then press (L) in the direction opposite the way the fish is going to reduce its HP. When the fish's HP reaches zero, you will automatically land it.
