The Scattered Cargo is one of the Side Quests in NieR Replicant. Side quests are optional tasks or quests usually requested by NPCs that players can choose to complete in order to obtain rewards. Some quests rewards are required for certain endings.
An old lady standing under a tree in Seafront needs you to recover cargo from a ship that was lost at sea. Search the shorelines and find her three pieces of cargo.

An old lady standing under a tree in Seafront needs you to recover cargo from a ship that was lost at sea. Search the shorelines and find her three pieces of cargo.
- Speak to the old lady Seafront resident, standing under the tree near the fountain
The old lady will ask NieR not to open the cargo.
Scattered Cargo Crate Locations

- The shore of Northern Plains, under the bridge to the Junk Heap

- Pick it up without looking inside

Grimoire Weiss: "A wise choice. Rifling through the possessions of others is a vulgar habit."
NieR will not be given any more decisions, so the next step would be to return the cargo to the old lady and claim the reward when you deliver the cargo.
- Return the cargo to the old lady and the quest will end

NieR: "Unlabeled medicine bottles? ... And three's some kind of white powder inside"
Grimoire Weiss: "Ho! Given how carefully they were packed, I doubt we are dealing with sugar!
Grimoire Weiss: " A tremendous cache of illegal goods and dangerous materials! I'd wager my title page that our client is a smuggler."
