The New Merchant in Town is one of the Side Quests in NieR Replicant. Side quests are optional tasks or quests usually requested by NPCs that players can choose to complete in order to obtain rewards. Some quests rewards are required for certain endings. 

 

A man aboard a ship docked in Seafront needs to build his inventory so he can begin trading. Collect ten bundles of wool, five lumps of natural rubber, and ten goat hides.

You collected the materials. Bring them back to the client.

You delivered the goods. Hopefully your client can build a successful trading business.

The New Merchant in Town Objectives

Bring the new merchant ten bundles of wool five lumps of natural rubber and ten goat hides, then help him with his cargo.

The New Merchant in Town Walkthrough

Board the boat at the dock, and speak to the shirtless man sitting on a crate. The new merchant in his boat wants to get into the trading business but needs a source for materials. He needs to just make one trade then he can use that money to fund an expedition. Offer to help him and he will provide his list. He needs ten bundles of wool five lumps of natural rubber and ten goat hides

Return to the merchant and he will ask for help loading the other cargo for extra pay. 

Afterward, he will ask to wait till after his trade. When NieR returns, he will receive his payment.

      For those who came here to know when to return to the merchant to finish the quest, you just need to exit the city and go back. You’re welcome.

        I feel like most of these wiki sites just copy and paste crap. How long do we wait to finish the quest? It's literally the only thing I've tried to look up about this quest.
