The Creaky Waterwheel is one of the Side Quests in NieR Replicant. Side quests are optional tasks or quests usually requested by NPCs that players can choose to complete in order to obtain rewards. Some quests rewards are required for certain endings.
The young woman with the dog in he shopping district needs help repairing the village waterwheel. Travel to Facade's strange thing store and obtain parts to repair it.
The keeper of the strage-thing store needs materials to make the items you need. Collect ten pieces of iron ore and ten logs.
You collected the materials. Bring them back to the strange-thing store.
The parts are being built. Return to the village and inform the client of the situation.
You reported success to the client.

The Creaky Waterwheel Objectives
Gather the supplies to repair the waterwheel
Materials needed:
The Creaky Waterwheel Walkthrough
- Speak to the Villager woman standing next to the Item Shopkeeper. A dog will be sitting next to her.
She will say their waterwheel is getting old and needs repairs. Grimoire Weiss will suggest replacing the axle and paddleboards for now.
Facade
- Pick up the materials at Facade. The Strange-thing Shopkeeper will have what they need.
The Shopkeeper will send you to collect ten iron ores and ten logs to build the supplies
- Harvest ten iron ores and ten logs and return them to the Strange-Thing Shopkeeper
- Logs - can be purchased from the Material Shop
- Iron ore - can be bought from the Two Brothers Weaponry outside Junk Heap
While the supplies are being made, return to the villager with the request and let her know
- Speak to the villager once again to end the quest
Note: completing this quest opens up the side quest The Faded Fountain.
