A Bridge in Peril is one of the Side Quests in NieR Replicant. Side quests are optional tasks or quests usually requested by NPCs that players can choose to complete in order to obtain rewards. Some quests rewards are required for certain endings.
Dispatch the Shade that has taken up residence near the bridge in the northern plains. however, it seems the Shade isn't always there...
You killed the Shade; the bridge is safe once more. report back to the Client.
You gave the news to the client. Sadly, his daughter died from her injuries

Kill the Shade terrorizing the bridge at the northern plains
A Bridge in Peril Walkthrough
After the trip to the Lost Shrine in the Act II storyline, a Guard will have a new quest
- Speak to the Guard near the northern gate
He will say a Shade has killed three members of a family, and it has the ability to appear and disappear in the northern plains suddenly.
- Look for the Shade by the bridge at the northern plains. The Shade is not always there so NieR might have to return another time
- Kill the Shade, then go back and speak to the Guard
His daughter has unfortunately passed away, but this will end the quest.
You get Labyrinth's Whisper in this quest when you killed the specific Shade.
